jacques gervais - sound engineer, arranger, guitarist...

jacques"The first thing I ever played on the guitar was L'Eau Vive by Guy Béart.", he often says with a smile. "And then I signed up at the Schola Cantorum in Paris, my teacher was Alexandre La Goya !"
Then it was the conservatoire of Versaille for 5 years for doublebass lessons. But destiny seemed to want to prevail: "One day I found myself playing in an orchestra where the bassist was so bad that I was asked to take his place!" By chance, in this jazz bar, there were also some of the great musicians of the time.
He was thus able to make a record with Bud Powell, Don Cherry and Johnny Griffin. A the age of twenty he was set to leave on a world tour as the bassist with Jean-Luc Pont, mais, head in the clouds, had forgotten his passport!
I carried on playing music with Stéphane Grappeli, Claude Luther, Maxime Saurry, etc... Later on, he put his bass to one side and came back to the guitare, his first love: "It was first and foremost Jeff Beck who led me to love the sound of the electric guitar", and, with Lisa Gold, he created to his delight the recording studio in 1987.
Since then, Jacques has been going between advert jingles, film music, songs, arrangements and has developed, thanks to his gift as a musician, a sixth sense which enables him to bring a new, fresh sound to any sort of music.

lisa gold - composer and arranger (read her biography)

Lisa GoldLisa started playing piano on the kitchen table at the age of six. From a modest background, her parents agreed to hire her a piano. She started at the Strasbourg conservatoire at seven and a half. She left with a first prize in piano playing.
At the same time, in love with the theatre, she was dreaming of becoming an actress. She auditioned without her parents' knowledge for the Centre Damatique de l'Est, and was accepted. Family life was not favourable to an artistic life though, and she left Strasbourg for Paris.
Her artistic sponsor, the mime Marceau, encouraged her to pursue: theatre tours (Claudine in Georges Dandin - Moliere, Groucha Vanadsee Bertold Brecht, Sonia dans Oncle Vania - Tchekov), a few cinematic roles, Lady L with Sophia Loren, director Peter Ustinov, Mr Klein with Alain Delon, director Joseph Losey, two seaons at the Café De La Gare with Jean Paul Sevres - coauthor of "Viens chez moi, j'habite chez une copine".
She misses music though...... and she met Jaques Gervais, musician.
She took up music fully, composing her first works, amongst which was Spleening, accepted on Roger Bellon's (composer for the American series Highlander) first disc. The work was interpreted by the musicians of the Opéra under her direction.
She is a permanent member of the SACEM and succeeded in passing the coauthorship exam.
Since then, she has been composing well known advert jingles. She directs recording sessions, in particular those of choristers and comedians. Thanks to her cinematic/theatrical experience, coaching has become one of her main qualities

Teacher and coach of several participant of Star Academy and La Nouvelle Star.

Jury member of several singing competitions (Raisin d'or, Festival Vieux Pont, etc...)
